Walmart Adds iPad to Site

Discount chain Walmart now has the iPad available online—but you have to go to a store to pick it up. And not all stores are well stocked.
20101025 walmartiPad 500x303 iPad News: Walmart Adds iPad to Site

A couple of weeks after Walmart began selling iPads in its stores, the Apple tablet models are now available for order on their site. The good news is the iPad ships free to your nearest store. The bad news is you still can’t have one shipped to your home.
The priciest iPad, the 64GB with Wi-Fi + 3G model that retails for $829, is out of stock on the site, but a search of stores claims that 14 in the L.A. area have it in stock. Does that mean some stores have them but there are none left in the warehouse? The lowest-priced model, the 16GB Apple iPad with Wi-Fi for $499, is listed as available, but a search of stores show that some have it and some don’t.
All this could make for a very confusing holiday shopping season for customers who live in areas where retail choices are limited. I’d be feeling very Grinch-like if it was Christmas Eve, the nearest iPad was 20 miles away and it might get sold before I had time to snap it up.
